Plot Overview
Dan Da Dan is a thrilling and emotional anime series that blends supernatural action, science fiction, and romance. The story follows two high school students — Momo Ayase, a girl who believes in ghosts but not aliens, and Ken Takakura, a boy obsessed with aliens but skeptical about ghosts. Their friendly argument over which exists leads them to a bet that soon takes a shocking turn.
Momo and Ken decide to explore separate locations to prove each other wrong. Momo visits a rumored UFO site, while Ken investigates a haunted tunnel. To their horror, they both discover that they were wrong — both aliens and ghosts exist. Ken is abducted by aliens, and Momo encounters a terrifying spirit that tries to possess her.
After these events, the two gain strange powers. Ken develops psychic abilities linked to his alien encounter, while Momo inherits spiritual energy capable of combating ghosts. As they adjust to their new powers, they realize that supernatural beings — from evil spirits to extraterrestrial invaders — are drawn to them. Working together, they battle strange creatures, protect their friends, and uncover a deeper connection between the worlds of science and the supernatural.
The story builds as Momo and Ken’s bond grows stronger. They face powerful enemies, including an alien-spirit hybrid that threatens both realms. Through courage and trust, they combine their powers to defeat the threat. Though the story leaves room for continuation, it ends with a sense of hope, humor, and the hint of young love blossoming amid chaos.
The show combines romance, horror, and sci-fi in a uniquely entertaining way.
